As a mom of 7, you bet I've raised a few babies and just might possibly know a few things about those cute little buggers.

I've always been on the lower side of the spectrum as income levels go, so I consider myself to be a pretty darn good frugal mom. And being frugal with a house full of 7 kids is a big MUST!

Just think of it as you helping me pay for diapers.
First babies are SOOOO exciting!! My first pregnancy was twin girls!(Huge shocker!) So trying to find 2 of everything was a feat.
So how do you not go crazy and want every thing when you're shopping for your baby registry!?!
Simple. Bring a list, your mom or best friend, and possibly some extra cash for those sudden impulse buys. You can also register online if you don't feel like going out or are stuck on bed rest. :)
Keep in mind that you don't have to buy everything brand new! Consignment shops and thrift stores also have some very good finds. You just need to keep your eyeballs peeled!
I would like to share a few of my absolute favorite baby registry items that I was glad that I had and of course the essentials when it comes to newborns.
My Baby Registry Checklist
Crib/Bedding - Or even a Pack n' Play. My son slept in his until he was about 4 months old. This way we could keep him in our room. You'll also want a crib mattress, mattress cover, and few sheets and blankets.
Car seat - Try to purchase a convertible car seat. This will save you money from the get go! My son outgrew his infant seat before he was even 6 months old. His daddy is 6'5" so it was no surprise. Lol!
High Chair - Although this one could wait a few months you will eventually need some sort of chair to feed baby. We have a booster like seat that came with a tray that straps onto a dining chair. But a highchair can usually recline for the smaller babes that don't quite have the head control yet.
Rock & Play - This was a total life saver when my babies were little! It can also double as a bedside bed to keep baby close by! Plus if you need to keep baby slightly elevated, this will do the trick. My youngest son had acid re-flux when he was an infant.
Stroller - If you are tall do not get an umbrella stroller! It will kill your back. My husband really likes the jogging strollers, not necessarily for jogging, but for the height. Most come with adjustable handles.
Diapers - This is a no brainer, but what kind? If you decide to go for the disposable ones I would recommend either Pampers Swaddlers or Huggies Little Snugglers. Costco brand diapers are very similar to Huggies. Or, did you know Amazon has their own brand of diapers?? Yep! And they are comparably priced and super cute!
Wipes - I stuck to Costco brand for my last baby. You can never have enough! Plus you wouldn't want to run out in the middle of the night!
Bottles - This is personal preference, but all my babies liked the Playtex Ventaire or the Avent bottles.
Pacifier - Now I do believe that all hospitals supply these, but if you do purchase some I would get whatever nipple type is closest to the bottles you get. Gumdrop & Mam were favorites in our house.
Bathtub - A simple no frills one will do the trick!
Bathing - You'll want a few hooded towels, washcloths, and soaps. I have always used Aveno products with my babies due to eczema. I was able to use Johnson's on my last baby boy though! And that stuff smells so good!
Nail Clippers - You'll want these for sure! Baby's nails seem to grow at light speed.. You most likely need to cut them while still at the hospital.
Clothing - This is a very open category. Should you want to put any on your registry I would suggest Gerber brand onesies in multiple sizes. They always seemed to fit my kiddos the best. And should you fall in love with something register for it in a few sizes. I recommend having at least a few outfits/sleepers in sizes up to 6 months to start out. And don't forget socks!
Now I know there is a lot of other things I'm sure you're stressing about! I'd love to help you on your journey!
